Koch Fertilizer, LLC is seeking a motivated and self-driven Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to join the fertilizer shipping and storage terminal located in Huntington, IN. Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns network of storage and terminal assets across the Midwest and Eastern corn belt. The terminal network is responsible for storage and shipment of anhydrous ammonia and other fertilizer products to customers for agricultural and industrial use. Processes consist of: receipt of ammonia from a pipeline and rail, ammonia refrigeration and storage, ammonia heating, and truck transport loading/unloading. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining I&E control systems and will perform duties to ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the terminal. This position is based in Huntington, IN and may include some over-night travel to other terminals.

This dynamic role participates in the operation and maintenance of the anhydrous ammonia terminal and storage facility. Responsibilities for this role include performing installation, routine inspections, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and calibration of electronic controllers, PLCs, motor starters, analog transmitter, switches and other instrumentation used in anhydrous ammonia refrigerated storage and truck terminal process. Other responsibilities include seeking and leading improvement opportunities for the terminal network. The successful candidate will have good organizational skills, strong customer focus, and will be able to effectively communicate with managers, customers, and peers using respect, humility, and accountability. The candidate will also demonstrate safe work practices and uphold all laws and regulations required.

What You Will Need: (Basic Qualifications)

  • Ability to understand procedures, safety & environmental risks associated with handling, shipping, and storage of chemicals.
  • 2+ years experience or training in the maintenance and troubleshooting electrical control systems.
  • Mechanical Aptitude or background
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience reading electrical drawings
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Willing to work extended hours as required
  • Willing to be on a rotating on-call schedule including nights and weekends
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the reporting location
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to pass a pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to wear a gas mask type respirator
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights of approximately 25-100 ft
  • Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed
  • Ability to wear full Level A Personal Protective Equipment

What Will Put You Ahead: (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 3+ years' industrial electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems experience
  • 3+ years' experience working with PLCs
  • Experience with a CMMS system (Ex: Maximo)
  • Associate degree in a technical field

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
